Scope: The Riverbend Correctional Facility was constructed for the GEO Group and the GA DOC. This fast-track design/build project included fourteen (14) buildings which were administration, program, support, and housing buildings. The 280,000-square foot facility houses fifteen-hundred (1,500) inmates in a mix of dormitory, medium, and maximum security settings. Additional facility amenities include a library, law library, multi-purpose classrooms, vocational classrooms, office space for program staff, chapel, two (2) covered gymnasiums with support areas, two (2) outdoor recreation yards, and a warehouse. In 2012, this project won 1st place AGC Build Georgia and was a DBIA winner.
